This book has changed my life. Really.
The wisdom in this book has completely transformed my life, more than anything thing else I’ve ever read or meditated on. This is not hyperbole. The Four Agreements showed up in my suggested titles, as I’ve purchased books on Buddhism and meditation. It was relatively inexpensive so I thought, “why not?”Once I began the chapter on the First Agreement, I found myself resting my eyes on phrases, sentences, and truths that just stood out from the page with child-like simplicity and tremendous depth. As I started to unpack what I was learning, I cried some good tears. This happened over and over, like the wounds in my soul were beginning to heal. They were healing through my active attention and I learned how to speak to myself without being judgmental. I thought I already knew how to do this through meditation and therapy, but this book uncovers something for me that I just can’t explain.I don’t want to give away too much of this book, because the way everything is explained is so brilliant and builds in layers. The way it is told is important. You can feel the kind and loving intent within every word. This book is very easy to read and understand; you really don’t need advanced philosophy to move mountains of the mind.I feel like Don Miguel Ruiz is right next to me, gently and lovingly help me to see the real beauty in me, the real beauty in the universe and how we are all connected. It has the same force of an elder looking you in the eyes and telling you truths that come from years and years of contemplation, experience and wisdom. The best part is that I’m learning how to be me, really me. I’m learning how to love me, not things *about* me, but the real me way down inside that doesn’t have to puff up or put up guards. I’m learning to be vulnerable and relate to others with far less fear and self-doubt. What a gift. What a treasure.

    Loved it
Reading The Four Agreements was a real reset for my mindset. It’s a short, simple book, but it hit deep. Each agreement—Be impeccable with your word, Don’t take anything personally, Don’t make assumptions, and Always do your best—sounds obvious at first, but when you sit with them, they challenge the way you react to almost everything. What really stuck with me was how freeing it felt to stop personalizing other people’s behavior. The language is spiritual and gentle, but the message is powerful: most of our stress comes from stories we tell ourselves. This book helped me quiet those stories. It’s not preachy, and you can read it in a day or two, but the impact lasts way longer. I still go back and re-read sections when I’m feeling overwhelmed or stuck in my head. If you’re into self-awareness, healing, or just want a new way to approach life—this is a must-read.

Simple, Wise, and Truly Life-Changing in Everyday Practice
This book is a quick read but filled with timeless wisdom. Each of the four agreements is simple enough to understand yet powerful enough to change how you approach everyday life, especially in how you speak, react, and extend grace to others.I appreciated how the lessons focus on personal responsibility and inner peace. It’s not about perfection, but about living with integrity, truth, and compassion, values that align beautifully with faith and personal growth. The writing is clear, relatable, and easy to revisit when you need a reminder to stay grounded. It’s one of those books you’ll want to keep nearby and reread whenever life feels heavy or complicated.Pro tip: reflect on one agreement at a time and practice it for a few days, the difference in mindset is noticeable.

    Awesome read
I love this book.I’ve bought it several times way cheaper than buying in the bookstore. Life changing content.

  7. tony de la riva

Awesome book that contains lots of good, useful advice
This book is supposed to contain ancient Toltec wisdom. The concepts in this book make so much sense. I try to keep these 4 concepts, or, “agreements,” in mind-this book has enriched my life!

  8. Queenie

    perfect read
A wonderful book to have in my collection. Had it in audio version first and just had to get it in my hand.

  9. Babies N Brews

Such a great book, so insightful. And also, a very easy read. Was done reading this book in less than a day. Great read.

  10. Solène Victoria Julie MULLER

When we read it, we say to ourselves “obviously”. This book is a veracity that springs from wisdom and benevolence. It should be part of the books read at school so that children can quickly take a step back on societal life in order to avoid social conditioning and plunge into the pressure of the gaze of others, social norms, lack of tolerance and everything that can ultimately prevent the flowering of each one and why we are different and unique as an individual. Simple rules to use every day for a life filled with joy and personal fulfillment! A must for personal development, one of the best to start with!

  11. M

Waste of paper, time and money. It could have been a set of four post-its with one agreement on each.

  12. Daneri Velasco

I can’t believe it was that cheap! My pshicologist recommended it, it is short so easy to read as a person who struggles with reading.Helps to realize the importance of the words, I am into affirmations and law of attraction and this book is related to but with different context (this spiritual world takes you for the same goal at the end)

  13. Ivette Avalos

It’s an excellent guide to get rid of bad habits we added to our lives without noticing. Feel free to be yourself with these amazing pieces of advice.
