Helpful and Honest Guide for Parents
This book helped me understand where my anger really comes from. Jonny March explains that many parents carry stress, guilt, and old habits from their own childhood. He gives clear steps on how to stay calm, like taking a pause before reacting and using “I” statements when talking to kids.I liked the part where he talks about not being a perfect parent, but being a present one. That made me feel less alone. The book also has real-life examples, so it’s easy to see how the advice works. There are simple exercises at the end of chapters that helped me think and practice better ways to respond. If you’re a parent who sometimes yells or feels out of control, this book can really help. It’s kind, practical, and easy to understand.

    Well written with practical strategies
The book is well-structured. For the first half, the author introduces the roots of anger and then discusses emotional intelligence, effective communication strategies (active listening, pause, de-escalating), and anger management techniques. One of them, IMO, the most powerful is maintaining an emotional journal and having a personal Anger Management Plan in place. The next part has more practical strategies, from infancy and tantrum toddlers to teenage years and creating a positive family environment.A few case studies and stories, for example, Sarah’s and Anita’s shift from parental guilt to empowerment, are included and highlight the issues discussed.I do recommend the book. It’s an excellent opportunity to strengthen family bonds and to break the patterns of anger. My opinions are my own.

This is an excellent resource for any parent. It combines the author’s personal experiences parenting, with their professional experience as a counsellor in an easy-to-understand fashion.
