A must-read for anyone involved in education
There are very few that understand the teaching profession as well as Jeremy Adams. In his latest book, Riding the Wave, Adams navigates the choppy waters of education and explains how to weather the constantly changing conditions. This is a perfect book for the times, as the current coronavirus pandemic has caused a near-overnight shift to online/virtual instruction. Some states and school districts have handled this change better than others. It is a perfect example that every time an educator gets used to a certain curriculum or method of teaching, the deck gets reshuffled on them. The best teachers are the ones who can adjust and play the new cards that they are dealt. As a father of school-age children, I could only wish that my children had someone like Jeremy as a teacher. His passionate love of education shines through in this book, as does his desire to positively impact every student and fellow educator that he meets. He proves that one can never afford to be complacent no matter how many years he or she has spent in the classroom. This book should serve as an amazing professional resource that is full of clear strategies for those in the education field. It is also a must-read for anyone who desires to see continual improvement in our education system. I highly recommend it.

Brilliant book by a brilliant teacher!
Jeremy Adams was one of the first teachers I met when I began my career in education. I was immediately drawn in by his charisma and how he makes everyone he is speaking to feel as if they are very important and the center of his attention in that moment. Two of my children have taken his classes in high school and he has impacted their educational experience tremendously. My son decided to pursue a career in teaching because of Jeremy. I am purchasing this book specifically for my son so he can understand more deeply about what it takes to not only become a great teacher but to ride that wave of constant change in education. Just when you’re getting comfortable, a twenty foot swell comes out of nowhere. Jeremy brilliantly explains how to navigate uncertain waters. And, as a counselor, I am thrilled to see that his main focus is on the all important relationship teachers have with themselves, their students, their colleagues and the community. I enthusiastically recommend anyone involved in education to please read this book!

    Change is?
As teachers we expect and strive for change in our students. We often identify that change as a sign of growth and maturity. However, we teachers often see change in our professional world as a negative or a barrier. In his book, Riding the Wave, Jeremy Adams explains in a clear and concise manner why change in our professional world is not only inevitable, but required. The joy we each experience on a daily basis, as teachers, will only increase once we accept the necessity of change in our classroom, our relationships with our peers, and in ourselves. This amazing book will bring educators young and old comfort.

A great read from an experienced and enlightened mind.
Jeremy Adams comes from a a family of teachers and has spent the past 20 years dedicating his life to the art of teaching. This experience has allowed him to perceive small changes that have been taking place in society which inevitably trickles down into the classroom. From pagers to cellphones to smartphones, he has witnessed how technology has affected the classroom and students. I know for a fact he cherishes the bond he makes with his students; many of his first students still maintain contact with him. This is the perfect book during this time when teachers need to know how to deal with constant change.

The how-to book teachers need to survive the latest educational fad
Once again, Jeremy Adams offers solid advice and outlines a plan for educators to pursue as they navigate the complexities of education in the 21st Century. Change is inevitable, but, sadly, teachers are far too often simply drug along as test subjects for the latest education fads. Riding the Wave gives practical advice for leveraging relationships as the key to working through ever-changing policy and helping students succeed. This book should be required reading for teachers of all experience–senior educators, mid-career teachers, and students pursuing their credential.

    Great resource!
I’m in my 18th year of teaching, and there have been many, many changes over the years in education. This book helps me to navigate those changes, from striving to intellectually reach my students who are riddled with stress and dealing with the consequences of an ever-changing digital world, to collaboration with my colleagues and administration, to understanding my part in both my own school and community. This book is a wonderful resource, full of insightful advice from a veteran teacher.

    Incredible resource
There could not be a better time for this crucial work. Every teacher struggles with adapting and remaining passionate in the craft—this crisis only intensifies that struggle. What Mr. Adams offers is a multitude of solutions. They are clear and practical. His classroom experience makes him an ideal source. This isn’t a view from the “cheap seats,” it’s the wisdom of a professional in the ebb and flow of a teaching career. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.
