Works great
Kind of pricey for a tool I’ll only use a few times, but worked really well. The tool length allows using the puller to easily and completely pull the cartridge, rather than shorter pullers that only pull it out a short distance, then need you to use pliers to finish. Directions supplied were adequate. Comes with a brass cartridge loosening block tool and an extra pulling screw, in case you break the very long pulling screw.

Not ready for prime time!
Screw broke on first use. I ended up using pliers to remove the 1222 cartridge. The seals on the 1222 were coming apart and was hanging up the cartridge removal which caused the issue. the screw on this tool seams to be cheap and just snapped after removing the cartridge only about on1/2 inch. Great idea but the screw needs work.

Cartridge Removal Tool
Oh man I yanked and pulled and yanked some more with a pliers and no way was my old cartridge coming out, it wasn’t even budging so I bought this tool and it worked wonders. I wanted to get the job done the next day that’s why I ordered one that said “get it by tomorrow” and paid a little extra. I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 not because of the product but because of this:No mid-afternoon delivery ever. Always have to wait until evening (sometimes as late as about 8) for Amazon truck to arrive. And by then I’m beat and almost ready for bed. I wish we were first instead of last on their route because that’s what it seems like.

The BEST Moen cartridge puller!
I LOVE THIS PULLER! I’ve been a plumber for 50+ years and having repaired literally thousands of Moen faucets, I can tell you that removing a cartridge that has been in for years, can be a real challenge, not for novices. However, this puller changes the playing field. It’s extremely easy to use, especially on the posi-temp cartridges. I wish I had thought of it. Cuddos to its inventor. Well worth the money.

“One hit wonder”….Broke halfway through 1st use.
For $30.00, it should have last longer than one use. The material of the screw is too weak for the application. It broke with the cartridge halfway out of the valve body. 3 stars as it did help me get the cartridge out.

Did Not Fit the Valve Body
I expected this cartridge and tool to work well. The tool made it fairly easy to remove the original cartridge. I polished the inside of the valve body with 200 grit sandpaper after removing the old cartridge. I coated the o-ring and rubber parts with the grease; but I could not get the new cartridge to seat all the way into the valve body. I even tried fairly hard tapping on the cartridge tabs but I could not get either the new or old retainer clip to slide into position. I pulled the new cartridge out and could not find anything that looked like it would prevent it from fully seating. Luckily I had available a surplus Moen cartridge from some previous demo work. I lubed it up with the grease and it slid in easily and the old retainer clip just dropped into position. I worked but now I have a 10 year old cartridge installed instead of a new one.When I removed the new cartridge, I found that the tool did NOT fit the new cartridge. The metal jaws were slightly smaller that the width of the tabs on the new cartridge. The extra width might have been the reason the new cartridge did not seat into the valve body. Luckily since it had not been installed for years; just the center screw was enough to pull the cartridge out of the valve body.I am returning the kit because I could not get the cartridge to fit into the valve body.
