    Attitude of Gratitude
In a world where we have become egocentric, ungrateful, and filled with desire for more and more, the author offers up a view that has become counterculture (despite it being our foundational culture not that long ago). She Sweeps Her Dirt is a bold reminder that we are not on this Earth to take, grumble, and live shallow lives, but to live a purposeful life filled with humility and gratitude. Too often society focuses on what they don’t have versus appreciating the blessings they do have. Using riveting Scripture to emphasize God’s word about gratitude, attitude, and being humble, the author sheds light on how a life filled with each will create a more positive and loving experience on Earth while filling God’s heart with joy.The story of the humble lady in Africa is a great example of how no matter our circumstances, we must not grumble but have a grateful heart. Air in our lungs, shelter, love, and God’s grace is all we need, everything else is bonus. To want more or grumble for what we do not posses is driven by pride and arrogance. Ms. Adams uses relatable story telling combined with references to Scripture to convey powerful ways to improve our lives heavily underscored by gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. This book is great for anyone who has lost their way and needs a roadmap back, and for those that need a fair and honest reminder of our purpose – to love and live a God centered life. At the end of the day, we shall sweep our dirt and be grateful for the opportunity.

A Life-Changing Call to Gratitude, Grace, and God’s Truth
She Sweeps Her Dirt is a soul-stirring, truth-filled journey that beautifully redefines what it means to live with a grateful heart. Tracy Adams has written a book that doesn’t just inspire — it transforms. With every page, I felt both challenged and comforted as she vulnerably shares her wisdom and experience while anchoring it all in Scripture. Her metaphor of “sweeping the dirt” is profound — a reminder that even when life feels dusty or barren, we can still tend to our soul, our attitude, and our walk with God. The chapters on barriers to gratitude, comparison, answered prayer, and spiritual success are exceptionally powerful. This is more than a devotional or encouragement — it’s a heartfelt call to live fully aligned with God’s truth, peace, and purpose.I found myself highlighting nearly every page and will be returning to this book often. If you’re feeling stuck, weary, or ready for a spiritual reset, She Sweeps Her Dirt is the perfect companion.Thank you, Tracy, for your obedience, humility, and boldness. Your voice is needed in this generation.Highly recommend for women’s groups, faith-based book clubs, or personal quiet time.

    Timely and Spirtually Grounding Message
In a world obsessed with more—more success, more possessions, more recognition—She Sweeps Her Dirt: Having A Grateful Heart offers a timely and spiritually grounding message: appreciate what you have, even when it feels like it’s not enough.Rooted in Scripture and rich with practical wisdom, this book challenges readers to take a hard look at their mindset. The central question—What causes someone to appreciate and care for what they have, even when it’s very little?—is answered with a single, powerful word: gratitude. But the author doesn’t stop at a feel-good definition. She dives deeply into the spiritual barriers that prevent us from living grateful lives—comparison, pride, materialism, and a restless heart. What sets this book apart is its honesty. It doesn’t promise a perfect life or quick blessings. Instead, it invites readers into the real work of spiritual growth: learning to embrace your current circumstances, even when they feel like “dirt.” By redefining dirt not as something to be rid of, but something to be swept with love and care, the author beautifully illustrates how even the messiest parts of life can be holy ground. The book is a gentle but convicting reminder that answered prayers don’t always look like we expect, and that true spiritual success isn’t measured by earthly standards. Through worship, surrender, and humility, the reader is guided to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and to begin storing up treasures not on earth, but in Heaven. For anyone feeling stuck in a cycle of comparison or discontent, She Sweeps Her Dirt is a heart-check and a hope-lifter. It reminds us that gratitude isn’t a feeling—it’s a choice. And when we choose it daily, we begin to see the sacred in the simple, the divine in the dirt.Highly recommended for anyone longing for peace, perspective, and a deeper connection with God.

    Comprehensive/Practical Insight
She Sweeps Her DirtThe Author takes a deep dive into relationship building with God, utilizing the building blocks of thanksgiving and gratitude. Thanksgiving is weaved through out scripture. It is through thanksgiving that opens the doors to the foundational truth of God’s word. The author makes the point that it is through and by our worship experience that we display a heartfelt gratitude and draws us closer to our God and to the foundational truth which is rooted in God, not in our culture or our background.Regardless of the challenges, God has an ultimate plan. The author clearly defines those things that can become barriers to thankfulness and gratitude. One example was that of “comparison”, the author offers and antidote which is “contentment”.The author encourages its readers to shine the light on the positive aspects of one’s life. Taking our eyes from the rear view mirror of past and present dirt and looking forward with thanksgiving and gratitude for the plan that God has for our lives. She Sweeps Her Dirt provides a comprehensive and practical insight on how to embrace the “dirt” in our lives. A great read for further exploration into the scriptures, and certainly a great tool for any group study. JOB WELL DONE!!!

For some, their purpose in life is innate, and pursuing it brings a sense of fulfillment and belonging. But for others, life may push them towards their mission, yet they resist out of fear or closed-mindedness. For Tracy, embarking on her journey to Africa was the start of a spiritual quest, and this is why she imparts her wisdom in this book.
