    The Planner I Rely On
[This review was originally published on my website for my readers.]You’ve probably noticed that Amazon asks you to review pretty much everything you order: I don’t usually. However, when they asked me to review this planner, I decided it was worth telling you about. I’ve used the exact same planner for a full year, you see, and have found it practically perfect (for me) in every way. Not kidding. So I’ll not just review the planner here, but tell you how I use it as well. It’s by Paperage and comes as a hardcover book that measures 5 1/2″ x 8″ x 1/2″ plus a smidge more. It also comes in a variety of colors, which is perfect for me since I want a different color for every year. Yes, I’ll keep them as part of my business record. As someone who already has a full-time job, but also blogs, writes books, and has a monthly newsletter, I need something more than the usual scheduling system. I require a planner I can keep as a record of my year. After trying several options, I found this one and I’m officially a customer as long as Paperage continues to make this planner.Ready for the book tour?PICTURE WITH MONTHS BY COLUMNThe first two pages, not surprisingly, are 2025 and 2026 calendars; you can guess what they look like, so onward we go. These next two pages are a God-send for me. As you can see, I’ve adapted them. First, I attached a tab at the top that says “Hours Worked.” The tab serves two purposes: It tells what the pages are about and, more importantly, makes it easy to find them. The other modification is boxes I drew into the Sunday lines so that I can keep track of my on-task hours daily, weekly, and monthly. (I write monthly totals at the bottom of each month’s column.)Why do I track my hours? Because I need accountability. It’s easy, when I come home tired after a workday, to decided not to write, edit, or whatever. It’s easy, on a busy weekend, to do the same. To be totally honest, I look back at my hours from 2024 and am ashamed. While some of the blanks are a result of extended illness and other factors, others are sheer laziness and procrastination on my part. So yes, these two pages are an important motivator.PICTURE OF MONTHLY CALENDARNext come the monthly calendars. I probably should have chosen a different month to photograph, because you can see my hand drawn blocks from the previous page. The paper being slightly transparent isn’t really a big deal for me. Since I write everything in pencil, I don’t have to worry about bleed through. If you’re a pen person, however, be aware that you might find it somewhat annoying. This section is where I record my publishing schedule. When I’m on track, I have blog posts scheduled weeks and even months out. One glance at these pages and I know exactly where I stand. As you can tell, I’m not even remotely ahead at the moment. I’m hoping to change that during this holiday week. Maybe.PICTURE OF WEEKLY CALENDARHere’s where the rubber meets the road. On the right, you see dotted paper. Through 2024, this side of the page served multiple purposes from listing “Must Do” items to recording random thoughts and ideas to holding overflow notes from the daily records to… I don’t even remember what all. It’s versatile, and I’m glad I have it.On the left side, I record what I do each day. Be it researching, writing, editing, publishing, promoting, or something else, it gets written down here. This way I can remember when I did what and, frankly, it occasionally makes me feel better about myself when I’m feeling like a slouch and shouldn’t.The planner ends with several more dotted pages that, again, can serve a variety of purposes. I used them in 2024 to help me plan out the devotional I’m writing, to track goals I’d set for the year, and more. The book also has two ribbon bookmarks, which I use to mark the current month and week; a folder on the back cover that comes with tiny accent stickers and can hold all sorts of things; and an elastic band to keep the book shut.Bottom Line: This is a quality planner that is small enough to toss into my backpack when I travel, versatile enough to serve in a variety of ways, sturdy enough to stand as a yearly record, and comes in enough colors to keep me happy. I give it five out of five stars, hearts, etc.Celebrating Jesus!Tammy C

Nearly Perfect planner, but still an exceptional product and value
PROS:Perfect size – small enough to not not feel bulky in one hand, big enough to write in effectivelyYearly planner design – the squares are spacious enough to write in, looks sleekWeekly design – the weekly calendar on the left with a full page on the right lay out make it really usable a week at a time, enough room to write in to do’s on the days and other ongoing tasks on the right note section. The small dots on the “blank” pages is a great design feature. They’re unobtrusive, but yet they are super handy if you want to write/draw straight in your notes. The added note pages at the end is nice to have. The bonus envelope/organizer on the back cover is nice touch.Paper high quality, feels classy, subtle cream color and not blaring white.Faux leather cover is soft and feels high quality, I’ve used mine for 8 months now, holds up well.CONS:None, except the only other thing to make it perfect would be to add moon calendar to either the annual or weekly calendar – just icons of new, full, half moons would be really nice… hope manufacturer is reading in time for 2025 editionsAll in all, great calendar for the price, I will be buying these every year moving forward. If it comes in a different color and you want it, you need to buy it early because they must be in low supply. I originally ordered blue, but it never came and manufacturer or Amazon never gave me a heads up, that was annoying. But I ended up ordering a black one and it’s nice too.

    It’s perfect
This will be my third year using the Paperage planner. I’m glad to finally have a planner that makes sense for me. I especially like the month grid spanning a double page – gives you enough room to actually write something in the block. The weekly spreads are simple and functional. And lots of pages for notes at the end is especially nice. The planners are well made with nice paper. I hope they will continue making these planners!

  4. Tess

This is the best planner ever!
This is the third year I’ve ordered this planner because it’s simply the best, and I am super picky about what I need. The paper is thick so it doesn’t bleed through. It’s the right size to fit into my purse. The ribbons help me find my place quickly. It has the monthly calendar so you can see everything all at once in a month. And then the weekly calendar page has a blank page across from it so you have plenty of space for notes, to-do lists, etc., while looking at the whole week. There are plenty of blank pages at the end with a pocket for documents. I use these for big projects. It comes in great vibrant colors so that you can choose a different one each year (though I miss the lime green) with an elastic band to keep it together so the pages don’t get ruffled. I love, love, love this planner!!

  5. A W

The only con it’s a bit expensive, but I like everything else:- A week on one page and free space for notes on the opposing page. It’s great for both creative and organized planning.- No unnecessary lines. A very subtle grid on the “notes” page, so it can be used both for guided writing and for free drawing- Ideal format, not too big, not too small, quality pages thick enough, but overall the planner is slim and light- Nice choice of colors, quality cover and bindingI tried other brands and come back to this one. The Moleskine equivalent was nice but its pages were more flimsy. Others were heavier or more cheaply made. This one is perfect.

  6. Sadie M.

I love these planners and I hope they never stop making them. It has everything I need and comes in super cute colours (which is important!)I like how Monday through Sunday are on the left with the right side being open for notes. My only complaint would be that I wish all the boxes Monday to Sunday were the same size as I work a 24/7 job and the Saturday and Sunday boxes are smaller than the Monday to Friday ones.

  7. Veranika Puhacheuskaya

I finally found THE PERFECT PLANNER. Everything is exactly how I wanted it to be, I didn’t even know it was possible. I love it so much and finally actually use it.

  8. Luis Morales
