Exact fit, form, and function.
Exactly what I needed to replace a older original gas cap on my 2005 Prius. Took about 5 minutes to install it correctly.

Item compatible with my car
Replaced a failing gas cap causing “check engine” warning. Fixed the problem. Tetherline attaching cap a little short.

Defective upon arrival
I received a gas cap doesn’t seal properly since it didn’t click at all when it was tightened. This prevents the engine from starting so I had to really adjust it by opening and closing the gas cap many times to get it to start. I do have to note that I live in CA and smog/emission standards are more strict here. I’m not sure if this could be part of the issue but given the cap didn’t even click, I would think it’s defective more than anything.

Fixed my gas tank not pressurizing issue
I live in a dry climate, my gasket on the gas cap stops sealing and I get warning lights. After looking them up on the Toyota Forum the first time and finding out it was my gas cap, I just replace it when this happens. I’ve tried a non-OEM caps and the never work.

Good price but for a cheap product
It was a cheap cost for my vehicle gas cap but at the end you pay for what you get. The gas cap broke in half and there was no handle to get it off. I took maybe about 15 minutes to get it glue to something and then take it off.

Fixed My Evap System Failure Signal – Lexus GX470 2005
Bought this because the GX470 (2005) was signaling an Evap system failure on dashboard – something like VSC, Track off and check engine all lighting up and staying on. Web search indicated an old gas cap could be the problem as the O-ring tends to contract and harden over 15+ years of service. Ordered the replacement cap which was an exact replica of the original. Saved a wad over getting one from the dealer. Swapped out the new for the old on the SUV (very simple operation) and drove for 2-3 days, at which point the dash light signals all disappeared.
