Perfect Size and Works Like a Dream!
This Instant Pot is the perfect size for small families like mine. It cooks everything quickly and evenly. Super easy to clean and simple to use with clear settings. I love how compact it is without losing any of the features of the larger models. Great quality and totally worth it!

    Love it
Love the size and the pink color. So, much easier to work with and clean than the larger version. The sauté function does run pretty hot so don’t take your eyes off it.Did a pot roast almost the same size as the bottom of the pot in 75 min, on pressure cook setting. Took it out and set it aside to rest then put all the vegetables in the pot and pressure cooked for 30 min (could have done for less time) Probably could have done meat for 60 min and been fine. It’s nice and light and so much more convenient than trying to lug around the big one especially when there is only two of us now. It made more than enough for at least 4 people. So, unless you have a huge family or like tons of leftovers then this is great for 2-4 people easy. The directions for pressure cooking say to use a minimum of 3 cups of liquid but I believe this would be incorrect as it would have filled the pot over 3/4 full when you add ingredients. From what information I could gather on the internet you should only need a minimum of 1 cup liquid. Which I think sounds more correct because I split the difference and added almost 2 cups and in the end after done cooking I had probably 4 cups of liquid when all cooked. But overall very happy with the machine and it’s quick cooking time. It’s a great quality machine and was on sale so a steal of a deal. Definitely great value for the money

Very happy with this Instant Pot.
I am so happy with the decision to get the perfect multi cooker. It replaced my 6 qt crockpot express oval which I have had for years and loved. It finally died a valiant death and I needed a new one. I use it just about every day. I make shredded chicken every other day for our 2 dogs and I use it to make dinner just about every night. I have never had an instant pot and this one turned out to be a great choice. I like that the inner pot stays put when you stir, I like how easy it is to clean, as well as all things I can make in it, very versatile. It’s easy to use, heats up quickly and I like the safety features, except the lid tends to get very hot on each side of the handle so I had to learn the hard way to be careful of that. Otherwise, my food turns out great and full of flavor, and it’s not too heavy for me. I liked my oval pot and when I first saw this, it looks a bit small to me, but everything fits in it just right. It doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter which is great since I have a small kitchen.

    Love the size and color
Love the 4qt size and having a wide pot finally for a smaller pressure cooker. So far everything I have cooked has tasted great. I have cooked both jasmine and basmati rice separately and with chicken. It works easily and well, cleans up quickly and as usual with an IP, is fast. The glass IP lid for my 6qt works with this which is a plus. The updated quick release switch was what made me want to get this one. I am not sure if it matters to me overall about the power cord change but I did previously enjoy being able to store it in the pot. I was not a heavy user of the IP before but everything I used a lot is here with this model and the size fits my needs better so have already used it quite a bit. I love the white as well.

Nice Instant Pot With a Couple of Drawbacks
PROS:1) Aesthetically pleasing appearance in my upgraded light kitchen, much prettier than my other black and stainless Instant Pots. Even the panel is mostly white. Color is a soft white or very light off white, not stark white which I was hoping for.2) Much quieter than my other 3 and 6 quart Instant Pots. No loud obnoxious beeps.3) The release button is on the front of the lid rather than next to the pressure release spout making it much much safer to use.4) The glass lid from my 6 quart Instant Pot unit fits this container so they are interchangeable. A huge plus since the unit doesn’t come with a cover for refrigeration.5) I love the wider shorter bowl which makes it easier to cook and serve.6) I like that it has both high and low temperature settings for Slow Cook unlike my 3 quart Instant Pot.CONS:1) Cord is cheap and flimsy, nothing like the more substantial 3 pronged cord on my other Instant Pot units. This was a huge downgrade. And it’s black, an eyesore on this otherwise very pretty unit. Should have used a better quality white cord. I’m purchasing a sleeve for it.2) Electric Cord is not detachable like with my other Instant Pot units so you can’t replace it in case you want something longer or shorter or better quality or just want to remove it for storage.3) You can’t purchase additional replacement containers in this size and shape which I was able to do with my other Instant Pot units. Hopefully they’ll eventually manufacture them. But in the meantime the one container is all I have.4) The Pressure Cook/Steam/ settings have only one temperature unlike my other stainless Instant Pot units which had both low and high options. I consider this a rather significant downgrade. After using it several times and judging by how long it takes to heat up, cook, and depressurize the temp seems to be high. Disappointing as I always used the low temp setting before.Overall I like the RIO except for the cord and that I can’t buy extra containers. So far it’s working well. I’ve already made soup, pasta, and rice which came out perfect.

Last night, I finally had the chance to use my new Instant Pot for the first time after having it for about a month. I took my time familiarizing myself with various articles, how-tos, and recipes from different sources. Among the suggestions I came across was the water test, which proved to be beneficial in gaining confidence using the pressure cook function. Starting with a simple recipe that required natural pressure release also helped ease me into the process.I opted for the RIO 6qt. model, and so far, the control panel seems fairly intuitive. While the user manual isn’t the most user-friendly, I found plenty of excellent resources online, making it less of an issue. I’m still in the learning phase, but I’m thoroughly enjoying exploring this new and exciting way of cooking. An update after nearly two months of owning the Instant Pot: I discovered a couple of things related to the slow cook function that I thought would be helpful to share. For slow cooking, the IP’s low, medium, and high settings correspond to warm, low, and high on a Crock Pot or slow cooker. So, when following a slow cooker recipe that says “cook for 8 hours on low,” set your IP to slow cook for 8 hours on medium. Additionally, it’s essential to have at least one cup of liquid in the pot when using the slow cook function, making sure not to exceed the fill line on the inside of the pot. These tips have made my slow cooking experience more enjoyable and efficient.

As a South Indian vegetarian, I was looking for something that could handle everything from dal to sambar to kichdi – and this Instant Pot Rio 6L has completely changed my kitchen game.I’m able to prepare traditional dishes like sambar, rasam, pongal, and even rajma-chawal with ease. The pressure cooking feature is fast and reliable, and I don’t have to babysit the stove anymore. It’s become my go-to for one-pot meals – super convenient, especially on busy weekdays.Cleaning is also hassle-free, and the build quality feels premium. The multiple preset options make it easy to switch between different dishes, and I love how it retains the authentic taste of our cooking. If you’re a vegetarian (especially from the South), this is totally worth the investment. Time-saving, efficient, and a great companion for anyone who enjoys home-cooked meals without spending hours in the kitchen.

Another favorite of mine; so cute the mini 4 quart. I use it every day, Instant Pot comes up with new models different features but nothing complicated. The screen shows the time very clearly. What is there not to like. I wish everybody would get one the inner pot is wider , not as high but that is why I fell in love with it. From breakfast to dinner!

this has been amazing for making my homemade dog food. I am vegetarian so I never thought I’d have a need for a crock pot or instant pot but this has bee so helpful in making my dogs homemade food. He’s a senior and has been having allergies lately so I wanted to start making food for him so I know what’s in it. I’ve also made veggie chili in it and will be experimenting with other veggie meals.
