I’d subscribed to Hello Fresh for a few years. I had a rough work schedule but doing some of those box meals and stuff was out of the question and I had 2 daughters who needed to get into the habit. Great service in my opinion. Simple recipes. All of it kids can follow. But you learn there are just so few ingredients going between meals that a little more effort to shop for them. I think its a great recipe book for really good but simple menus. Quick meals. Simple for people who aren’t in the habit of cooking. Kids just getting their own place.

It’s British, new recipes for me.
It’s great, but British. It’s not by table spoons, or cups, or gallons. But good. Love the food.

Metric conversions and microfiche fonts oh my!
I absolutely love the recipes from HelloFresh but didn’t want to always do the meal deliveries so I decided to buy the recipe book. While I’m excited to try the recipes, I was a bit bummed out to find that the ingredients in the recipes are in the metric system. Do I wish my childhood education had taught me this very important way of measuring…yes, absolutely. But since it didn’t, I have to google conversions from grams to ounces and Celsius to Fahrenheit. A little more time consuming but perhaps I’ll just write it all into the book for future convenience. I’m also saddened by the font size of the instructions. I think it is about a 10 point font in a lighter gray. What the heck were they thinking? For young people, this may not be a problem but for my 50 year old eyes…I have to get out a magnifying glass or squint really hard to see the steps. Their description of each meal is written in a perfectly sized font in a readable black color. Perhaps they could have switched the two fonts, giving a person the way more important instructions in a more readable font and saving their colorful descriptions for a pastime read whilst waiting for a meal to finish cooking. I give high marks for beautiful and detailed photos that help me along in case I cannot figure out what an aubergine is or how small a dice to make, or even what a finished recipe should look like. I am also pleased with the introduction that teaches me a handful of techniques used by experienced cooks. Overall, the book will be a great addition to my library and will get used often so long as I’ve got my glasses and google at the ready.

Not the same as their meal service
Me and my wife signed up for the hello fresh meals loved them but just wanted the recipes we don’t mind saving the money and getting our own groceries. So we just wanted their recipes saw this book and thought awesome no subscription needed. Well not the case the recipes in the book aren’t near as good as the meal subscription.

I did not like this book as it only had a handful of recipes that were really enticing. There are way better cookbooks out there that are so can’t recommend it.

Le livre n’est pas bien optimisé. C’est étrange a suivre

I never leave reviews but this book is amazing! Most of my recipe books have 3-4 favourites, but I have cooked easily 20 recipes from this book so far and they have all turned out really well! The recipes are well thought out, easy to follow, good balanced recipes with plenty of veg and good thought put into complimentary flavour combinations and interesting textures, none of these recipes are flat or boring. They even turn out looking like the photos, and even dishes that I would typically shy away from and find intimidating are manageable because it’s all presented in a really accessible way. There are no ingredients that can’t be found in a standard supermarket, and the timings for preparation are accurate so it’s easy to plan your time for mid week meals. I love this book and I am constantly raving to everyone about it!
