Incredibly Helpful and Practical for Adults with ADHD
This book was great! It’s full of helpful information and practical tips specifically geared toward adults with ADHD. I’ve already implemented several strategies and have noticed positive changes right away. The advice is easy to follow and makes a real difference in daily organization and planning. I also believe many of these tips would be beneficial for adolescents, especially when it comes to time management and staying on task. Highly recommend!

Executive Function Simple Solutions
I believe that this amazing book reaches such a variety of people! Twenty years ago, I sustained a severe, diffuse axonal traumatic brain injury in a car accident. I damaged 3 out of the 4 lobes of my brain causing extensive damage in the areas of memory, my frontal lobe, and a variety of physical deficits. I relearned to walk, talk, etc all over again. I literally lost all of my executive functions and struggle, even now, to rebuild these skills. I knew that this book was for me when I saw the title!I love that each chapter took on a core executive function challenge from areas of beating procrastination, organizing, sticking to things, staying on time, and withstanding distractions!I know what you are thinking. Will I ever finish this book? Guess what? The author kept this in mind and wrote the book to just flip to a page to start! It is not meant to be a read through book. Simply look through the chapter titles and start where your greatest struggles are at! If you aren’t sure how to identify your biggest challenges, there is a fun quiz to solve that too!You will find that the hacks within this book are flexible, compassionate, and made to help you succeed in your real life, not some unrealistic ideal scenario.Let this book be your game changer!

A real game changer!
This book is amazing. I’ve recently figured out that I have ADHD through the diagnosis of my children. Fifty years of wondering what’s wrong with me and beating myself up! Well, this book explains what they believe to be going on in the brain and then gives you tools to help. The author breaks the book into chapters. There are also quizzes to take to help you identify what the area to work on. Different hacks are introduced in each chapter. Chapters can be skipped, broken up, or not completed as to not overwhelm the reader. There are also pages that will help you plan your months and days. I have found this book to be a game changer!

Well organized and easy to pick up again and again
I’ll admit I was skeptical of this book at first, because sometimes even non-ADHD books with tons of tips/tricks/hacks can be hard to read and refer back to because they are random and unorganized (here’s looking at you, Family Handyman) as if compiled by someone whose ADHD isn’t being treated. But THIS book is great! Each hack is useful by itself, applicable to daily life or to common specific circumstances. Plus the hacks are organized such that they often build on the ones before, which makes them easy to remember and find again. The last two chapters on making a budget and storing food are common problems that are rarely mentioned in ADHD books, which makes those hacks all the more valuable. I’m glad to have the chance to keep coming back to this book for ideas.

The author “gets it” and helps you understand that you are not alone.a
Writer “gets it” about the life-altering effects of attention deficit in adult patients. In my case there is Bipo Depression, Anxiety Disorder and OCD. I am an absolute “poster child,” you might say. It comforted me to feel understood by the author; someone who knows that I regularly awaken feeling so unable to enter the new day, to sit up and get on with it: not focus, be overwhelmed and ashamed because I cannot muster the wherewithall to accomplish something…anything. Writer’s tips give me permission to take most any useful step as a win. Lots of practical ideas are offered, many of which you already know and some that you consider irrelevant. No matter, they are there. Pick one and do what you can without worrying about what other tips you might act upon later. Focus on now and do your best.

You CAN get it under control
This book is WONDERFUL!!!!! In my line of work, ADHD is both a curse and a blessing. The curse comes from being overwhelmed by how many things I need to do (causing me to procrastinate), and a blessing in that I have to be able to recognize something that needs doing almost instantaneously and start chasing it. THEN I have to make it all get where it needs to be by certain deadlines… I felt like a rat in a wheel, but this book has helped a lot! I’ve learned that this is all part of it, and each suggestion is written in a sweet, simple, encouraging way so as not to lose my interest or overwhelm me again with the fear of failure (and not being able to be perfect). LOVE the JOT (Just One Thing) method – makes so much sense. Yes, I AM teasing you a little, but you really need to look at this book, realize all that it can do for you, and add it to your life. You’ll be AMAZED!!!!!!
