I came across this book in my church library. I have the old version, and based on the cover I didn’t expect much depth to come from the contents of the book. But, man, did it speak to me! (don’t judge a book by it’s cover 🙂 ) This is a very positive and grounding book, that I turn to when I am feeling stressed out or negative about my parenting. It immediately centers me and brings me back to peace. Much like my favorite book “Women Living Well”.The author has done so much research writing this book. She offers such practical advise, and very specific references when she is quoting a story or recommending something. She included a prayer left by George Washington, which brought me to tears….where else would I have read that? She lists lots of other books she recommends you read to your children, organizing them by age group. There are lots of Biblical references and examples. My favorite thing so far that I have implemented from this book is daily morning devotions with my young kids. Something I had always wanted to do but didn’t stick with. She gives you very clear advise on where to start with your morning devotions: Memorize Matthew 22:37-40. Review the 10 Commandments. Read scriptures about good character. Teach your children about Biblical Heroes.Her writing style is so pleasant and refreshing. I feel like the book is built on fact and truth…gathered knowledge and gained wisdom, rather than just one woman’s opinion about things. I would highly recommend it to other moms!!

Her books are so well written and easy to get into. I love them. They are full of biblical information, so their source is very reliable. They are great when you need a boost, when you are worn down, or just feeling lost. They help remind me what a positive person I can be. I definitly recomend these books, all of her books.

This book is so great for moms who are trying to raise their children POSITIVELY! It gives great ideas and thoughts followed by a prayer!

Easy read!!
This book is similiar enough to the new addition that I am doing a Bible study with it and following along just fine with the other ladies who have the new version. All of the chapters are the same and the questions and readings at the end are the same too. It is great that it is easy and interesting to read but that is the reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. It isn’t extremely challenging or thought provoking and it probably isn’t a book that I would need to re-read so I can’t give it a complete thumbs up. It is a good book for when you are busy with life though. I love that a bonus book is added that I haven’t got to yet. Any book to keep me positive in any way is worth it.

Fair warning no text to speech!
I’ve not read this yet but am panicking because I rely on text to speech for comprehension and concentration! This is the first book I’ve ever seen not have it. I downloaded a sample of power of a positive mom (single book, not double) and confirmed that it Does have text to speech and I’m trying to exchange now.
