Product Description

Created for middle and high school-aged students as well as hobbyists looking for an upgrade, the Swift SW200DL monocular compound microscope packs a powerful punch in a solid frame. With its multi-purpose dual illumination system, the SW200DL is a portable microscope built to take you from at-home experiments to science fairs and beyond!

The SW200DL features the optics, sturdy metal body, carrying handle, and cordless capability of our SW200 model, upgraded with a two-in-one-illumination system for our strongest, most versatile compound monocular microscope to date! One LED bulb provides cool, dimmable transmitted light from below the stage for transparent slide specimens. An additional built-in light on the arm converts the microscope to a stereo setting by offering illumination from above for solid objects at low magnifications. Magnification levels range from 40-1000X. Three aberration-correcting glass DIN objective lenses (4X, 10X, and 40X) paired with two wide-field glass eyepieces (10X and 25X) offer sharp images without edge blur. The monocular head is fixed at an ergonomic 45 degree angle to prevent neck-strain and fully rotates to enable sharing between multiple users, ideal for classroom or one-on-one instruction. Precision coaxial focusing knobs on both sides of the metal arm allow you to make minute adjustments easily. Clips on the plain stage fully secure slides.

Excellent microscope for studying microscopic organisms.

AN EXCELLENT INTRODUCTION INTO THE FASCINATING WORLD OF MICROSCOPY
The SWIFT Compound Monocular Microscope SW200DL with 40X-1000X Magnification, Dual Light, Precision Fine Focus, Wide-Field 25X Eyepiece and Cordless Capability was purchased during April of 2021 for the price of $91.99 plus tax. It is available now for the price of $89.99 plus tax and a 10% discount with coupon (December 3, 2024).There has been a microscope in my life ever since the 4th grade. Having been given one at that age changed my life in the direction of science as well as art. The SWIFT Monocular Microscope is an excellent choice for individuals interested in seeing some of the unseen.I have a LEICA Binocular Biological Microscope, as well as a laboratory quality NIKON Binocular Microscope. Both of which are rather large and unwieldy for travel. I acquired the SWIFT microscope because I was traveling and couldn’t transport either of the other microscopes to new locations on a regular basis. It was utilized in order to become familiar with the use of a SWIFT Microscope Ocular Camera and the accompanying software…as well as the use of various focus staking software applications. In addition, I’d never used a microscope that featured illumination that originates above the stage. This SWIFT Monocular Microscope is well built, well designed, and completely portable. Although the techniques for illumination has multiplied significantly, this microscope, with the use of the SWIFT Microscope Ocular Camera, is an excellent introduction for anyone interested in the process by which photomicrographic images are produced. It would make an excellent gift for a grade schooler who exhibits an interest in the world of science.Throughout the years, I have given microscopes to children as gifts hoping that its use would introduce them into the wonderful world of microscopy. I will continue to do so!

great lighting ; fine focus is tops ; for $ 90.00 great deal.
This is the second microscope I’ve had; the 1st one was in the 1970’s & now this one. Much improved from my 1st. one

    Great for the price
All the samples were from a lake.It is great for the price. However, don’t assume that you’re gonna see Bacteria without a dye and a specific bacterial slide. This is because the bacteria are too transparent to be viewed by this scope if you’re just looking at lake sample. The Quality is good, and the microscope is well build. Hinges feel good. The height might be too low, so I’d recommend using it on a high table. It’s weighty enough(like 2 kilos). It functions well.

    Great student microscope
I bought two of these microscopes for my high school biology homeschool group. They have good focus and a variety of magnifications. I didn’t love the eye piece. It switches easily between the 10x and 25x but the is no where to store the spare one.It has two light sources but they can’t be used at the same time. The upper light has never been useful. I use the lower light exclusively. Battery or plug in option.Highly recommend this microscope for students.

  7. Heather Parent

    A toy
Image quality was very bad, like a toy. And the stage has no dual axis movement for scanning the sample, which I guess doesnt matter if you cant see much anyway. Returned it and am going to save up for a real one.

  8. J Walker

    Extremely impressed with image quality.
Bought this microscope to view things that my kids and I found out in the yard. The lowest power objective with the over head lighting produces some stunning images. The detail is really hard to describe, we even saw a tiny living insect buried among a bit of foxtail grass. Definitely get the version with overhead and beneath stage lighting.A few downsides to mention:It’s a manual stage, so it’s a bit tricky to move specimens around. Also, the endstop for the focuser is pretty difficult to set, so you have to be extremely careful to not collide the high power objective with the slides. The collimator is flush with the stage, so I suspect it will be very easy to scratch it, if you are not careful. Also, I wish it had a iris style aperture (at this price point probably is not possible)Overall: For the price, this microscope is an incredible value. The images this produces has left all members of the family really impressed and excited to look at more things! It’s a solid microscope that I definitely recommend buying.

Ofrece todo lo necesario para empezar bastante bien y da oportunidad de poder mejorar.

  10. Amazon Customer

  11. DAVID ARBON

Like most of these low cost microscopes they come from one or two factories in China with several names on them.Excellent quality for their low cost, everything works, two minor things, the low power eyepiece has a pointer in it which is annoying though its easy to remove if you want to do so. Also the eyepieces are a slack fit in the holder, easy to drop if you tilt the instrument down, other than that fit and finish were very good, heck they even include batteries and a dust cover. Ideal for the casual hobbyist or teen.
